When you calculate a period in SimplyComp, all the deals in the Compensable Reports are pushed through the Payment Mappings and then results are produced for Users assigned to Plans. SImplyComp allows you to calculate at a frequency that aligns with the calendar type your plans are built around. For example, if you choose the 52 Week Calendar type, you have the option to calculate weekly. Most other calendar types calculate Monthly. While you can certainly set various payment frequency and attainment measures (quarterly, semi-annual, annual, etc), we calculate at your Calendar type’s lowest frequency.
A common setup we see is the 4 Quarters and 12 Months Calendar type. Let’s say a company has an annual quota, but they pay commissions quarterly. The results page will display all 12 periods, but the quota will be tracked and displayed as an annual metric and the payments will only be displayed at the end of the quarter.
After calculations are complete, the Dashboards are then refreshed for the given period. These calculations can then be seen by Users. Be aware that, if you are troubleshooting results or need to make adjustments, the Users might see incorrect results if viewing their Dashboards before you’ve finished the monthly calculation process.
