TLS 1.3 Update Information
At Latitude 39, we are focused on continually helping our customers improve their security by using the latest security protocols. Beginning October 21st, 2022, SimplyComp will require TLS 1.3 and later encryption protocols in an effort to maintain the highest security standards and promote the safety of customer data.
What is TLS?
Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a protocol that provides privacy and data integrity between two communicating applications. TLS is the most widely-deployed security protocol today, used with web browsers and other applications that require data to be securely exchanged over a network. TLS ensures that a connection to a remote endpoint is the intended endpoint through encryption and endpoint identity verification. The versions of TLS to date are TLS 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3
SimplyComp web and API connections, along with email delivery, use TLS as a key security component, as do HTTPS (web) and STARTTLS SMTP (email).
What is changing?
SimplyComp is requiring an upgrade to TLS 1.3 or higher starting October 21, 2022. At this time, we will begin disabling the TLS 1.2 encryption protocol.
